Mile stones of the success story

In January 2007 the first Elevator Pitch Night took place. The idea is sim-
ple, a competition for start-up companies and businesses to present a product or service in English in three minutes or less. James Parsons had the idea for the competition which has spread across Germany and to other countries.
In September 2000, independent language schools with branches in 15 cities across Germany formed an Alliance called A.S.S.E.T. (The Associ-
ation of Select Schools for English Training). The following years have seen even higher standards being set for professional Business English training. ICC was one of the founding members.

Early in 2001, Go! International was launched by ICC. SMEs from Sax-
ony took part in a special series of workshops over 5 months. Topics in-
cluded Telephoning, Presenting and Negotiating. At the end of the course, the participants went on a language and business trip to England to put the theory into practice. Go! International takes place 2-3 times a year with a week long excursion to Dublin. Companies interested in the Irish market can use the opportunity provided by Go! INTERNATIONAL to take a closer look at the business potential.
From November 2003 until April 2004 ICC was one of the official supporters of Leipzig’s bid to host the 2012 Summer Olympics.
