James Parsons had the idea to start the Elevator Pitch Night (EPN) in the year 2001. The competition night takes place once a year in January as an EBC meeting in DaCapo Leipzig. Along with entertaining music and variety acts 15 business people and founders of companies take up the challenge to present their business idea in front of a jury and a large audience of approx. 180 guests. The presentation has to be not longer than 3 minutes – and in English. The winner of each category receives a prize.

After this evening every “pitcher” can be sure of being able to make a presentation in English without any props and get the admiration of the guests. It is a courageous thing to go up on stage to present in English
in front of a German speaking audience. But anyone who rises to this challenge can cope with any other business situation.

The audience are guided through the evening by the two charming presenters, Paul Fröhlich and James Parsons – and of course with the excellent buffet and DaCapo’s atmosphere.
